Russell Sears was born in Lima, Peru; his high school education was at Milton Academy in Massachusetts and was then followed by achieving a master’s in architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans. Since 1982 he has been a long-time resident of DC with an architectural practice established in 1989 and registered as a local, small, and disadvantaged company.
Recently, as a self-employed architect having designed numerous restaurants and clubs in the area and with no real projects on hand due partially to this pandemic he was motivated to tap into his creative nature and seek some sort of products that would allow restaurants / bars to keep their original seating capacities and thus reduced transmission of germs between patrons and also between patron and staff. Soon after focusing on these devices and also with his experience in designing Charter Schools and with all the concerns about opening schools including his own 10 year old son’s DC Public School and the back and forth discussions on the pros and cons; he created a modular rolling and collapsible pod partition that would separate students, their chairs and desks from each other and would allow the classroom to function to its original capacity which it can’t do if you space student desks 6ft apart. All these inventions have patent pending status and are part of the Healthy Partitions collection which are available to purchase.
